About LSB

about lsb

The Persian Language Service Board (Persian LSB) was established with the goal of supporting and empowering Persian-speaking individuals around the world — especially those facing challenges such as an unhealthy relationship with food, body image issues, and struggles with self-acceptance.

The idea for this board emerged from the growing need within the Persian-speaking community for recovery resources and support meetings in their native language. A group of dedicated volunteers began this journey with great effort and collaboration to make recovery services more accessible to Persian speakers, regardless of where they live.

As a result of these efforts, on September 22, 2025 (31 Shahrivar 1404), the Persian Language Service Board was officially recognized as a member of the World Service Office and Region 9, marking the formal beginning of its activities.

Persian LSB is part of the global Language Service Board structure, with the mission of coordinating, supporting, and facilitating communication among Persian-speaking groups and intergroups across the world.

Currently, this office operates through collaboration between two active intergroups:

Online Persain Speakers Intergroup(OPS), a dynamic collection of Persian-speaking groups that conducts a wide range of activities, including meetings, committees, and member support.

Northern Khorasan Intergroup, which holds both in-person and online meetings from Saturday to Thursday via the FreeConference platform.

The OPS Intergroup Committees operate in various fields, each taking responsibility for part of the community’s service, support, and administrative functions.
Active OPS committees include (planning committee, Soecial Focus committee, Twelfth Step committee, Youth committee, Public Relations committee, New comers committee, Young people committee, Treasury committee, Literature and Publicatuons committee, Translation and Interpretation committee).

We believe that every Persian-speaking individual deserves the opportunity to experience recovery and personal growth in a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment. Principles such as mutual respect, honesty, responsibility, anonymity, and voluntary service form the foundation of our work.

The OPS Intergroup and the Northern Khorasan Intergroup will collaborate on outreach and service efforts while maintaining their independence within the Persian Language Service Board structure. Many other Persian-speaking intergroups are also joining this collaborative effort, united in carrying out the spirit of Tradition Five.

Persian LSB strives to enhance global access to recovery services for Persian speakers through international cooperation, translation and localization of educational materials, and support for newly formed groups.

We warmly invite all interested individuals, volunteers, and members of the Persian-speaking community to join us — together, we can build a bridge between language, culture, and recovery.
